Peace and Reconciliation with the Taliban: Sayed Yusuf Reza Gilani, the Pakistani Prime Minister, paid a visit to Afghanistan in which he came to terms with the government of Afghanistan on establishment of Joint-Peace Commission between the two countries. With regard to this, the Head of the Prisoners of the High Council for Peace has said that all the Taliban prisoners in Guantanamo, Bagram and Kandahar jails should be released. In the most recent event, a member of the High Council for Peace was killed in Helmand province. Sara Sorkhabi, the member of the High Council for Peace has said the council has established telephone contacts with the anti-government forces. In the current week, more than hundreds of the Taliban’s prisoners and armed anti-government forces have escaped from the Kandahar Prison. It is assumed that escape of the said Taliban has been carried out by coordination of some State officials in that province.
Election Transparency: The Special Electoral Tribunal dedicated to investigation of elections’ complaints has announced that the recounting process of dubious ballots has been finished.
However, so far there has been no mention of how the list of the members of the Parliament might be modified. Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of the House of the Representatives has said that some corrupt individuals are working at the Special Electoral Tribunal. The Deputy Head of the House of Representatives says he has audio recorded evidence on which a MP accused of fraud talks about offering money with one of the official of the Special Electoral Tribunal to get his name omitted from the list of said Tribunal. Ahmad Ziya Rafat, the member of the Election Complaints Commission has said that the AGO has suspended him.
Administrative Corruption: Sayed Mobin Shah, the Deputy of the Revenues & Customs Department of the Finance Ministry has said that interferences of several state organs have caused increased corruption within the said department.
Based on some evidence, 140 acre of the State’s lands in Rahman Mina area of Kabul City has been expropriated by the Onyx Construction Company on which some residential townships are being constructed. There are some other subjects regarding the corruption which are obstacle against international community ‘trust in Afghan government.

The Article has explored the issue of the reconciliation with the Taliban from the Human Rights angle.
